The redevelopment of Old Poplar Library Container Futures, and Bromley Hall, making up the Leaside Business Centre, is the first stage of the regeneration of the area known as Poplar Riverside. The developments are bold and imaginative and build on the tremendous potential generated by its strategic location, particularly the natural asset of the River Lea and excellent accessibility.
Old Poplar Library addresses the needs of local communities currently suffering high levels of physical, economic and social deprivation, by providing affordable space for start-up businesses. This is a flagship project to promote the development of underused sites along both sides of the River Lea ensuring that the river will become a center of attraction, rather than the 'gap' between the boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Newham.
